All the way back to the 40's where pop began, we had Bill Cosby, however it was very different back then to how it is now. Originally it'd be very specific and there wasn't a thing of music videos, that's why originally to see Bing Cosby perform you'd have to watch him in a film or on television.
From there we reach the early 50's, this is where we got introduced to Frank sinatra, he was very similar to Bing, however he also did Concerts, which was his only difference to Bing.
In the late 50's this is where Elvis became a thing, he was the first differentiation from the normal popstar, suiting the more rebellious group, however he only toured in America so any fans outside of America would have to buy his films.
This then lead into the beatles, they were the ultimate group, breaking many chart records and Television records, sometimes on a weekly basis, they were also the very first group to make a Music Video, as they were bored of screaming girls.
Level 2 so far. Danny you need to analyse these videos from The Beatles. Do they contain any of the features Goodwin identified?
